This is why I hate the accursed combination of sidewalk and absolutely frictionless ice, just last week I took a fabulous header in front of one of the kids I work with and a ridiculous goofy like noise as I did. Meg's sounds like it'll be okay though. Check out the details:

WHITE STRIPES GET A BREAK!


WHITE STRIPES drummer MEG WHITE has broken her arm, forcing the band to postpone a number of promotional work in the lead-up to the release of new album 'ELEPHANT'.

However, the band insist that the arm will heal in time for their comeback UK tour. The sold-out, week-long jaunt kicks off in Wolverhampton on April 7.

Meg slipped on ice in New York two weeks ago, falling heavily and fracturing her left wrist in two places. The arm is in a cast. A proposed showcase in Austin this Saturday (March 15), organised by the band's US label V2, has had to be pulled.

Despite the injury, Jack and Meg will take off for a whistle-stop round of radio and press promotion in Australia and Japan on Sunday (March 16).
