Ran across this group from Sweden on the internets and took a chance on both LPs. They're excellent! I think someone at the Wexner should bring them over to score a silent film fest or something.

I liked this, reminded me of Devotchka, but I wish it had more different songs...I mean I thought most of the songs sounded very similar, one or two had some excellent piano dittys and cool stuff, but many lacked that umph.

Totally. The version of Island Ave on the LP is a bit less psyche and a bit more garage, but the whole thing is tits. I think you'll love it.

Ride For Revenge lp on Northern Heritage. I have no idea what to expect from this other than Finnish black metal which could range from Beherit to Dead Reptile Shrine to Satanic Warmaster. I haven't played it yet.

Excoriate on pestilent winds lp- people have massive erections over this and I can understand why. Mid paced death from Germany with evil vibes.

Love this one, though I still think the albums are just primers for the live show. These guys need a live album out.

Meshuggah- OzBen
My first purchase of this band, though I have heard their stuff over the years. Good stuff.

They put one out a few years back, Live From the Relapse Contamination Fest
http://shop.relapse.com/store/product.aspx?ProductID=31072

they do a Venom cover. Sadly, they cut out the between-song banter (that you can see/hear on the Contamination Fest DVD) where Pike is so wasted he says "this Blood is called song From Zion".

that dude is awesome

best old-school, filthy sounding death metal I've heard in a while. Makes me wish I was seeing Autopsy in Maryland this May, but this'll do. This is top o' the heap, or, at least until the Coffinworm album comes out next month.

Profound Lore has built the most ridiculously good roster. That's a label where you can just blindly buy stuff and know it will be awesome.

I need to check out Claws
. Razorback is another good label, and their distro runs like clockwork.

I'll be at Scion (and Rebreather the night before). Big DEATH patch on my jacket. respect

Yup, that's the one. The "NOBODY listens to Witchfinder General, let alone puts their patch on a jacket...therefore you must be a NARC" jacket.

That's exactly why I sewed the Salvage patch right over my ass neck, for the street cred.

I'll give you $ for an XL Mental Funeral shirt :)

My White Stripes box set came yesterday, I guess technically I bought it in 2009, but after weeks of re-authing and dropping the auth Warner Brothers appears to have failed to actually charge me for it. WIN!!

Awesome package, I highly recommend the "soundtrack" for the movie, its a great set of live songs.

Raekwon- built for cuban linx 2xlp. This is the only rap album I listened to last year. Purple wax, two duds that Dre produced. Beautifully bleak cocaine rap. As perfect as a rap record can get in 2009-2010.

Vile Gash- 7". Billy Cool, take note. No cheeky internet based wacky shit for cornballs. Fucking disgusting and spiteful just how I ordered it.

Got two Lutomysl cds. I haven't listened to them yet but their most recent is on some epic Ukranian destruction. Listening to it makes me imagine that I just finished riding a horse, getting drunk off mead and eating root vegetables out of a fire. It's that good.
