http://www.buddyhead.com/rip-brendan-mullen/Its a sad day for Punk Rock, as Brendan Mullen died early yesterday morning. The man behind the LA’s legendary Masque, where the careers of the Germs, Weirdos, Screamers, and just about every early LA Punk Band started, died from complications from a stroke he had suffered on Saturday. He was 60 years old. There is no question that The Masque, and Mr. Mullen played a critical role in the rise of Punk Rock in LA. He was also the author of “We Got the Neutron Bomb: The Untold Story of L.A. Punk”, “Lexicon Devil: The Fast Times and Short Life of Darby Crash and the Germs”, “Whores” (the Jane’s Addition book), and most recently “Live at the Masque: Nightmare in Punk Alley.” We are way bummed about this.
