Great show. Wye Oak really impressed me, and Blitzen Trapper was as good as last time, if not better. I'm a sucker for indie folk-rock interspersed with noisy numbers. The place was packed, too, so thanks to everyone who came out. |

I suspected Wye Oak was going to be good but they exceded my expectations. Lots of great noise for a duo and they seemed like swell people. I talked briefly with Jenn afterwards and she was very happy with the evening as a whole. I especially enjoyed when she jumped up on stage during Blitzen Trapper's set to deliver them ice cream from Jenni's. Awesome. Blitzen Trapper was a nice compliment to Monday night's Wilco show (which I didn't go to). They are kind of like the AAA version (using my baseball terms) of Wilco and I suspect their popularity will continue to grow. |
