A casual friend of mine who penned a 331/3 volume on Celine Dion's "Let's Talk About Love" had his book and himself named-checked by James Franco while being interviewed on the Oscar red carpet:
"But, as it turns out, Franco's best moment of the evening happened on the red carpet. Asked about his guilty pleasure, Franco mentioned that he doesn't really watch TV but then said, "I'm reading a great book right now by this guy, Carl Wilson." And then he went on to rave about Let's Talk About Love, Wilson's fantastic 33 1/3 book on Celine Dion's arguably terrible album. "It's a real investigation into what constitutes taste," said Franco."
That 30 or so seconds has turned into a guest spot on the Colbert Report for Carl. It airs on Wed March 4.
