1) I find out Tom Waits is coming to Columbus
2)I find out that I made Cookie's signature line

First off, I'd like to thank God, who made it possible for me to be up here right now, having my quotation accompany every post of Cookie's for the next several weeks. Also, mom and dad and everyone back in Newark, I'll never forget any of you! Just how quickly did these sell out? This is ridiculous.

It took quite a mental effort to convince myself to spend close to a hundred dollars on a ticket and then to find out they sold out 5 minutes after going on sale is making for a very disheartening morning...

Sounds like it was sold out at 10:03. I called at 9:56 and got an automated voice asking me to press "1" for Tom Waits, but then said tickets weren't on sale until 10:00am, so I don't think they sold on the phone early.

I was online at 10:00am exactly, clicked through the couple of prompts, and had my tickets in the "we're holding these seats for you" page WITHIN 60 seconds...I looked, it was still 10:00am on my computer, and my tics were upper balcony in the back right side. I was shocked that these were "best available" within 60 seconds? I almost went back to try for a better seat, but decided to just take the ones I had.

Same here. Tried at 10 on-line and didnt start showing available until a couple minutes then the best I got was rear balcony center. Oh well, at least I got a seat.

Just had another friend email me about the Waits show...

at 10:01 am on the nose there was NOTHING AVAILABLE.

So, gone in under a minute for sure - prolly faster though.
