I was trying to read a book called Perfect From Now On: How Indie Rock Saved My Life by John Sellers, because I like rock books even though they're often very, very bad. I can't finish this one, because it is very, very bad. I should know better. The author has written for Spin, and I'm pretty sure that if you've written for Spin or Rolling Stone you're a glib, smarmy idiot.

It's still not quite as bad as anything by Chuck Klosterman, though...

Thanks for the heads-up. I was thinking of checking that book out. Maybe now I won't.

But I actually like Chuck Klosterman, so maybe now I will.

Glib I can take. Smarmy, not so much. What would you say is this book's glibness-to-smarmocity ratio?
