I'd like to offer Nick Cave my home remedy for the No Pussy Blues.

This odds and sods collection is every bit as good, maybe better, than Shout Factory's first Slade collection, Get Yer Boots On.

Image

On first listen, not quite as good as his last solo album, Rant...but it's still really really good, and I have a feeling it's a grower. If only all of my 70's heroes could have stayed this cool...

I've had to be at work at 8am the past couple of days, and this really helps clear the cobwebs out of my head.

they had "oh bondage, up yours" at live-band-punk-rock-karaoke this week at high-5, but i opted for "search & destroy" instead, soley because i didn't wanna hear the sax part played on a synth

(i tell you, though, that li'l girl with the SG tore those stooges solos up)

I do like that record a lot - "Roscoe" is super cool, but totally reminds me of the Fleetwood Mac song "Rhiannon"

I have been teetering between liking and not liking the Wilco record. Interesting departure, but sounds timid and pale on the heels of such blinding original work as YHF or Ghost.

I have recently shown my pansy colors by listening to The Smiths self titled record.

A friend of mine turned me on to Guided by Voices-Bee Thousand.

It is fucking great, even though it is a little out of style with what I usually am listening to. And its 13 years old, so I am a little fucking late to the party. I like to try new things. The songs "goldheart mountaintop queen directory" and "echoes myron" are really fantastic. In light of trying new/old things, I also have been rocking out to the replacements "tim". It is great also, I still need to listen more.

Any band that I end up working for at ravari and like their set, I try and buy the CD. Vailent Thorr, Totomoshi, Clorox girls, Artemius Plyedriver, Knife Crazy, etc, etc.

Studio listening has included things that Ive been mixing.

333-95% done
Nightsoil-80% done
Dead fuckin Sea-lets be safe and say 70.3%
Little Darlings-100% need to pick up mastered copy.
Wifey-15% done
