i saw this last night, while i sat eating some really great Chinese fast food, waiting for the doors to open at Rare before the Rancid Yak show.

i agree with this opinion of the New York rock scene. it makes me sad. meanwhile, however, there is so much really incredible, honest, and soulful rock happening in the city that gets overlooked completely.


the New York Press. they also run my favorite comic (the only comic i read, actually): Rehabilitating Mr. Wiggles.

i'm interested in seeing how well the Strokes next album does, how well it is received. i think a main problem i have with these bands is that i see them as riding trends, being trends, riding a fashion scene, having little or no longevity. and i don't care for that. i want something that lasts.

and the White Stripes may take over YOUR world, Rob Duffy, but not mine.
