U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland, D-Lisbon, has reversed course and decided to run for governor in 2006, the Ohio News Network reported today.

Strickland, 63, is expected to make a formal announcement as early as Monday, two sources close to the situation told ONN.

Hah! Right, not so much a hope for your libertarian ideals, but he is probably the only democrat left in the state who could actually win.

Well, he probably couldn't be any less competent...There's nothing like the prospect of Betty Montgomery or Ken Blackwell as Gov. to make one want to flee for one's life.

Strickland is a good guy. He does do some actual work. I used to have to talk to him weekly when I was a state reporter for Ohio University. We were pals.

He was always outraged about something. : )

Dispatch has a story today about how Taft has the lowest approval rating out of all 50 governors. His approval rating is 19%. Now there's some motherfucking hope.
