Lebron to announce his decision this Thursday at 9 pm. I really don't think he will stay in Cleveland. I think the bettors agree cause the odds have been pulled.

I didn't know that, but I think announcing it that early is awesome. No matter what he chooses he comes out golden for choosing this early instead of delaying it like that asshole Green Bay transplant.

I dont think anything is set in stone, but I find it very hard to believe that if he was jumping ship that he would put on a 1 hour special rubbing Clevelands nose in it. He still has strong ties to Northeast OHIO

ans ESPN's job at this time is to pump this thing up as big as possible, they have to create an uncertainty to drum up interest and anticipation

other than staying in clevelenad, there is another reason he is doing the tv show

Due to the unprecedented attention and interest surrounding LeBron's decision, we have decided to make this announcement on national television. By doing so we have generated funds that will be given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. LeBron has a longstanding commitment to giving back to the community, and has worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs in cities across the country.

and the court room falls into whispers. So this is his apology to Cleveland/Akron then.

Not looking good for Cleveland. Ugh.

Will Lebron and Amar'e work?

Fuck that guy. He's had it in for Lebron for quite some time. If it wasn't for superstars like James this guy would still be reporting on 4-H rallies at county fairs which isn't to say he shouldn't be doing that anyway.

I hope he's stays but the Cavs had their chance and spare me the "but he was surrounded by talent" talk. This team won A-Rod style by winning games and building stats when it didn't matter. No player, including Jordan, wins a championship in the NBA without an awesome #2 guy.

He is making his announcement at a Boys & Girls Club in Greenwich, CT.

I think this is a lose-lose situation. If he leaves Cleveland, people will be pissed, if he stays in Cleveland, fans and media in NY, Chicago, etc will feel used and lash out. He is overexposing himself.

I would have preferred he faxed in his decision a'la Michael Jordan.

People all over ESPN are saying "my sources say New York," "my sources say Miami," etc etc. Covering all sides and overhyping the event. Their hyperbole is what makes their radio stations and TV channels almost unwatchable/unlistenable anymore. One guy on ESPN said yesterday that the LeBron announcement will be an event where 20 years from now, people still remember where they were when it happened. I find that hard to believe.

I doubt I'll stick around a TV to watch tonight. What do you do for an hour special on an announcement that takes 5 seconds?

Questions - will this really be as high rated of an event as "experts" are saying? Maybe I am out of it, but I don't think many people really care about this.

If he goes to Miami, how can they afford Bosh, Wade, and LeBron and still be under the salary cap?

No matter what happens, Miami is DWade's team.

Can I read a book beforhand then tune in? Or maybe read, before and after. Is the finger fucking only if I choose to watch or can I arbitrarily start working myself over? I need specifics.

If LeBron signs a 5 year, $96 million contract:

If he signs with the NY Knicks he will pay estimated $12.34 million in NY state income taxes

If he signs with the NJ Nets he will pay estimated $10.32 million in NJ state income taxes

If he re-signs with Cleveland he will pay estimated $5.69 million in OH state income taxes

If he signs with the Miami Heat he will pay $0 in FL state income taxes.

None of this Miami talk makes any sense to me. This extravagant charade is set up for James to go on TV Thursday to declare his loyalty to his hometown, to say he took a look around at more glamorous places and in the end decided there is no place better for him than Cleveland. And then he'll go into next season with a promising new coach in Byron Scott and a deep roster that has won 127 games over the last two seasons, and every time he puts on the Cavs uniform he'll be selling himself as a player who was ultimately loyal to his hometown and his franchise -- which is how every athlete who endorses products hopes to be viewed.
