So long to Steubenville Perhaps the last purveyor of Steubenville-style pizza in central Ohio, Formaggio Pizza, at 20 E. 13th Ave., is planning to close just before Memorial Day. In Steubenville style, the cheese is held off until the Sicilian-style pizza is baked, then it's thrown on "cold." "It creates an entirely different flavor," owner Ryan Costantino said. He and his crew will serve up the pizzas the rest of this week, from 4 p.m. to midnight, then the lock goes on the door. |

I just demolished an 8" pie with banana peppers from Gahanna Pizza Plus. + can of Dr. Pepper = $4.65 extremely well spent. |

Pizza Slayer does NOT EVER need a twitter. Return to Columbus pies: Thursday night @ Gatto's - not their best performance...half the pie had sausage, which was almost flat-out bad, but I was hungry and it was still gatto's...not going to rank because that is PS's job. Sunday night @ Pizza House - fucking delicious...I was impressed, and my bro was too...we were pretty high though, which could explain why the medium pep disappeared in 10 minutes...good stuff though. Next time in Columbus I am doing Dante's and Adriaticos. I really do miss the pies from Cowtown. |

you guys need to go to catfish biff's. i need a rating from pizza slayer on this one. i happen to think it's pretty real. you can work it into a larger feature: the pizza slayer crew as young college men, sewing their oats, experimenting with different pizzas. like that tv show "a different world", only with pizza instead of whatever those people were doing. |

You should set up (and post on your blog) a PO Box for people willing to subsidize your pizza slaying. I got a coupon for a free pizza the other day at a place I love, but that I moved far enough away from that I would have never used it before it expired. I would have been more than willing to mail it to you, so you could consider whether it would entice a visit from you......but I accidentally threw it away. But for the future, just saying. Nothing beats great pizza better than free or subsidized great pizza. |
