My name's Jeff and I'm 23. Grew up in Cleveland and moved to Columbus 5 years ago for school. I've been listening, experimenting, and/or creating music for the majority of my life. I've been using the internet and reading messageboards just as long (23 remember?) Some Columbus born and raised types turned me onto this site. Seems like a good source of info and plenty of time-burning distractions here as well.

I grew up listening to punk, switched over to hip-hop and ended up hooked on EDM. I don't apologize for liking everything and don't pretend to be hardcore anything. I own around 500 records (yes vinyl is still alive) and am still buying wax. I like owning the object and the cover art and not just the file. I DJ using serato because it's easier to transport and more powerful. I just started dipping my toes into production so as of now I'm playing other peoples music or my own edits I make just for the clubs. I have no idea how many DJ's are on this board but I've met a few locals IRL...

If you like House music I've got a brand new mix up on . You'll find me at parties like Work,Sweatin',Get Right, and that upcomming Diplo show (James where are my tickets?). Anything else just ask.

I started lurking several months ago; didn't make an account until recently because I'm incredibly lazy and creating a new handle on a forum has always seemed exhausting to me. I'll also mention that I like jokes...

I've always enjoyed music (a rare affinity to have, I know), but only started paying attention to local music in the past year. I'm sorta hoping that this site will give me a heads up in regards to what's going on around town. I love a lot of different stuff: anything from Wilco to one man black metal "bands" that record grim and frostbitten shit in their mother's basement. I dunno, I'm not hard to track down on other social networking sites so I'll leave it at that.

Anyway, hello friends =)

HI BOARD

My name is Doug, I'm 26 and I have been lurking here for about a year or so. I've been living here in Columbus for the past 3 years. I was born and raised in Dayton, OH. I work at one at the HQ of one of those large retail companies in Columbus. I have a dog, and I live in Old Town East.

I frequently attend local shows. I write my own music too, but I am always conflicted because one day I want to start a powerviolence project or a death grind project or an electro-acoustic project or an (insert genre here). I'm mainly interested in Ableton LIve and MAX stuff these days. Especially integrating those things w/ live musicians and visuals. Anyways, if you need someone who can play guitar/bass/samplers/ableton live/dickslaps just let me know.

I post on many other INTERNET FORUMS, but mainly reeelapse.com and forums.somethingawful.com
