These local protests bore me.

Stiff.

They often quite border on being juvenile with people/angry students spouting shit like 'we want the truth' or 'what terrorist threats?" I don't mind if people have a different opinion than my own, but I do expect a certain amount of maturity above and beyond that of a pissed off teenager holding a sign and marching in circles. Most of these protests are often ill-informed and just plain stupid, making broad generalizations about subjects they seem to know little about. They have absolutely no creedence to their claims of Bush being an evil dictator, instead making idiotic claims along the lines of "I was never afraid of Saddam - look how silly he looks in court now!" The irony being that most of these well scrubbed college boys and girls live in a society where they are free to speak their minds, unlike the regime of Saddam, where people were often skinned alive for that very act. I guess these kids were never 'frightened' seeing as how they were never a 'guest' in one of his torture chambers.

Funny how the Iraqi people cheered as statues of their former oppressive leader were brought down and smashed. You never hear that discussed at a local protest.
